North Dakota’s history
North Dakota is a pretty unrecognized state. Bordered by Montana, Minnesota, South Dakota and Saskatchewan and Manitoba (which are Canadian provinces), this state is made up of the Great Plains and the Badlands. The Badlands are clayey terrains and unfortunately not usable when it comes to agriculture - which, nevertheless, occupies a large surface area. The state is also rich in fossil fuels like petrol and brown coal. There are also numerous lakes! The state’s economy mainly thrives off of agriculture ; wheat, barley, rapeseed, soy and flax seed. There is also quite a bit of corn, sugar beet and soy that comes from the Red River of the North. The industry is poorly developed, but the production of hydroelectric energy is noteworthy. Unfortunately, there are enormous environmental problems that keep appearing due to the exploitation of shale gas.
Some culinary specialities
