Hannibial is an excellent example of waterway city of the 19th century, and was the birthplace of Samuel Langhorne Clemens, who is known by the name of Mark Twain, and was the author of ‘Adventures of Tom Sawyer.’ Actor Brad Pitt is also from the city of Springfield, and the famous Walt Disney spent a good part of his childhood in the city of Marceline, before beginning his career in Kansas City. Since becoming the biggest city in Missouri, Kansas City is the city of fountains (there are as many fountains here as there are in Rome!). Its nightlife is also eclectic with a big blues and jazz culture, and has in fact become the capital for this - it is even home to the American Jazz museum.
